A Latvian freelance dance and film artist based in Tallinn, Estonia.
Driven by curiosity and a passion for exploration, she delves deeply into the realms of art, teaching, movement, and storytelling. Her work captures the essence of each moment, celebrating the beauty of the present through creative expression.
She has been teaching contemporary dance technique and dance film making as a guest lecturer at Tallinn University since 2019, as well as a guest lecturer at the Latvian Academy of Culture, Iceland University of the Arts and often she gives workshops in Estonia, Latvia and abroad. For many years Rūta worked at the Estonian Dance Agency (Eesti Tantsuagentuur) as a dance teacher and visual media artist/marketing specialist. In her teaching she mainly focuses on contemporary dance technique, improvisation, research, dance film and composition. During the past several years of being professionally active Rūta has had a chance to collaborate on many, many amazing projects with different artists from different fields.
